Who, what, and why?

Does the world really need another blog?

Probably not.

I suppose this isn’t as much for the world as it is for me.
My thoughts.  My feelings.  My lessons learned and relearned.
And maybe, just maybe, there will be something someone else needs as well.

I struggled to name this blog. (Is that a bad sign?)  I wanted something clever, pithy, memorable… But mostly I wanted this endeavor to reflect my heart and what’s most important to me, the Light in my life that comes from knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Yeah, it’s kind of about me, but more than me. Hopefully.

I have been married to my oh-so-patient CPA husband for over 25 years and am a mom to two pretty amazing young adults.

An English teacher by training, I have a love of words and hold a special place in my heart for semicolons; how could you not love semicolons? I was blessed to be primarily a SAHM for over 20 years, but enjoy working part-time as a student teacher supervisor. In 2018, I embarked on a new adventure/mid life crisis… and I should be graduating with my doctorate in education in December 2021!

In addition to mentoring novice teachers, I have also have had the privilege of teaching Women’s Bible studies at churches, retreats, and conferences. I love digging into the Truth of God’s Word and sharing what I’ve learn especially in the area of cultural apologetics!

A little more about me?  I’m kind of goofy and tend to giggle at inappropriate times.  I will probably talk your ear off.  I like to ponder stuff.  Parades make me cry. Every time. (No, I don’t know why.  Yes, I know that’s weird.)

Oh, and I’m told I’m pretty funny; I’ll own that.  Even if you don’t think so, I often crack myself up. Life’s just too short not to find the humor in things.

So, why another blog? Because of this:

“for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.” -Ephesians 5:8-10

And this:

“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” – Philippians 1:9-11

Welcome.
